Will CBD make me high?
This is usually the first question asked and easiest to answer. No, CBD will not make you high. Sunshine Extracts uses full-spectrum CBD oil which means it does contain trace amounts of THC but less than 0.3 percent. While there is a slight benefit to having that small amount of THC together with other cannabinoids, it is simply not enough to cause any type of mind-altering effects.
Okay, so what is CBD oil?
CBD oil is oil that has been extracted from the flower and leaves of the hemp plant. The CBD part is short for cannabidiol which is one of over a hundred cannabinoids in the hemp plant. It is the most abundant in the hemp plant and besides THC, the most studied to date.
How does CBD work?
We’ll try to keep this one simple. Inside each of us is the endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system actually creates cannabinoid like compounds and can process the cannabinoids in hemp and cannabis. The main role of the ECS is to create homeostasis in the body which is always a good goal. The cannabinoids in hemp attach to the ECS receptors and can help our bodies achieve and sustain that homeostasis.
Full-spectrum CBD oil contains a full spectrum of cannabinoids from the hemp plant. It is often referred to as the entourage effect. It not only contains CBD but also various other cannabinoids including THC as well as other phytochemicals naturally present in the plant. The initial research shows that all of these compounds work together synergistically meaning that they work better together. Does this mean that it is better than broad-spectrum or an isolate? Not necessarily, but we feel it is the best choice for us and our products.
Are there any side affects?
There are currently no known side affects of CBD. That being said, if you are currently under a doctor’s care or taking medications, it might be best to check with them first before taking CBD.
Will I fail a drug test if I take CBD?
Sunshine Extract’s products do contain that trace amount of THC. While it is not enough to cause you to get “high” there is a chance that it could affect a drug test if enough THC is stored in your body. Bottom line, if you are concerned, you might want to look for a CBD option that has the THC taken out, either a broad-spectrum or an isolate.
So, is CBD safe to take every day?
Yes! But it isn’t necessary. Dosing can be specific to each individual and we suggest taking a little time to figure out what works best for you.
How old do I have to be to buy CBD products?
While CBD is non-toxic, it is not intended to be used by children. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase CBD products.
